Most fridges have a dial that goes from 1 to 5, or “colder” to “coldest,” with no actual number attached. You’re trusting a guess. The only way to know your fridge and freezer are holding the temperatures they need to be at is to measure them directly, and that’s what a dedicated fridge thermometer does.
