Most refillable oil misters have the same problem. You pump, a few big drops land in one spot, you pump again, and after a few weeks the nozzle clogs, because oil is a lot thicker than the water those pump heads were built for. You end up back at the bottle, pouring a glug over the potatoes and hoping.

The Flairosol Olivia gets around this with a trigger instead of a pump. Hold it down and you get a continuous, fan-shaped spray, much closer to an aerosol can than a perfume bottle. That means you can sweep across a roasting tray or an air fryer basket in one pass and get a thin, even coat, rather than a patchy one.

One full pull of the trigger puts out roughly a gram of oil, going by Flairosol’s own numbers. If you’re keeping an eye on how much fat goes into your cooking, counting pulls is a lot easier than guessing how much came out of the bottle.

There’s a filter that keeps bits away from the nozzle so it doesn’t gum up. The trigger is built not to drip, and the glass bottle has a wide mouth, so you can refill it without a funnel. It also works with more than olive oil. Avocado oil, soy sauce, cooking wine and plain water are all fine, so a second one could hold vinegar for salads or water for misting bread dough before it goes in the oven.

And because there’s no propellant, what comes out is only the oil you put in, which isn’t true of the spray cans at the supermarket.

Being glass, it won’t survive a fall onto a tiled floor, so keep it away from the edge of the counter.
